Mazda to Unveil Crossport Concept

MX-Crossport to debut at 2005 North American International Auto Show

Mazda MX-Crossport hints at possible future Mazda design direction

At the 2005 North America International Auto Show in Detroit, the Mazda MX-Crossport design concept will be shown to the public for the first time. Also appearing will be the Mazda5 and the Mazdaspeed6 to be newly introduced to the North American market.

MX-Crossport, a design concept crossover for Mazda, represents a new direction Mazda is considering as it works to expand its line-up of successful new-generation products.

Designed with the North American market and style of driving in mind, the design concept called the "Advanced Frontier" merges the speedy and athletic image of Mazda's best sports car with the dynamism, practical utility and comfort of ample space to seat four adults. The MX-Crossport is intended to transcend the existing categories of SUV and crossovers and step into the realm of sports car where the driver can experience the world of sports cars every time they get behind the wheel. The result is a vehicle that takes Mazda into a market segment it has never before ventured.
